Lightsaber Techniques
Form I: Shii-Cho "Way of the Sarlacc" or "Determination Form" - Description: Form I is the most basic of the seven forms and is learned by every Jedi Youngling. Shii-Cho includes the fundamental elements of all the lightsaber forms including the basic attack, parry, body target zones, and practice drills called velocities.
Form IV: Ataru "Way of the Hawk-Bat" or "Aggression Form"- Description: Form IV is the most acrobatic of all the forms and requires a Jedi to first master the Force Run, Jump, and Spin abilities. By incorporating all the Force powers that allow a Jedi to exceed standard norms of physical abilities, Jedi may resemble nothing less than a blur when using this style.
Form V: Shien / Djem So "Way of the Krayt Dragon" or "Perseverance Form"- Description: Form V was also created in response to the advancement and frequency of blaster use in the galaxy. Unlike the strictly defensive style Soresu, Shien exploits the ability of a lightsaber to block blaster bolts and deflect them back at an opponent in a counter-attack maneuver. In a duel, the Djem So variation of this form, which focused on strength, would be used.
Form VII: Juyo / Vaapad "Way of the Vornskr" or "Ferocity Form"- Description: Form VII instead employs bold, direct movements, more open and kinetic than form V, but not so elaborate as the acrobatic form Ataru. Juyo requires greater energy and intensity out of the practitioner because his focus is wielded more broadly and draw upon from a deeper well of emotion; while the outward bearing of a Form VII practitioner is one of calm, the inner pressure verges on explosive. It was also considered to be the most dangerous in regard to falling to the Dark Side, because it required a certain amount of enjoyment in the fight from the person experiencing it.
Niman / Jar’Kai: Dual-Bladed Combat
- Description: Jar’Kai was originally a style of swordplay that utilized dual-blades, developed by the Yovshin Swordsmen. A similar dual-blade technique referred to as Niman was developed by the Royale Macheteros of the Kashi Mer monarchy. Niman was developed into the sixth form of Lightsaber combat, retaining its name, while Jar'Kai became something of a blanket term for dual-blade combat.
Mounted Lightsaber Combat- Description: In this type of lightsaber combat, the Jedi would normally use one hand only, the other hand steering the mount. It would typically consist of simple attacks lashing out at grounded enemy units. Such attacks were normally low lunges with the lightsaber of a diagonal semi-circular nature, as the Jedi—being on a mount—would naturally be elevated in relation to the target. Thus there were some common features between mounted lightsaber combat and the airborne Trispzest lightsaber combat system, the difference being that in mounted lightsaber combat, the Jedi had much less freedom of movement. The Jedi could also use the lightsaber to deflect blaster shots and the like.
Telekinetic Lightsaber Combat- Description: Telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques made use of telekinesis in lightsaber combat. Some telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques, like the Saber Throw, were offensive, while others were defensive. A defensive technique, called the Saber barrier, was used by practitioners of dual saber combat. It consisted of having the lightsabers whirl in a circle around the Jedi, thus creating a defensive, but deadly, wall. Gifted Jedi trained with this style of combat had the ability to wield one or more lightsabers independently in combat, holding each of them aloft with the Force, and having them fight with a will of their own.
Tràkata Form- Description: Tràkata was a form of lightsaber combat. It took advantage of a lightsaber blade's ability to be turned on and off, a unique quality in a melee weapon. Quickly shutting off then re-igniting the blade could cause confusion in one's opponents, allowing for diversionary feints in combat.
Force Powers
Physical Abilities- Force Push: The Force-user pushes out with kinetic energy on a target or object to push it in a forward direct line. An object can be used as a projectile or blunt weapon, depending on the circumstances, or even to counter an initial Force Push. To use Force Push on a target or enemy can also be used as an initial weapon just by pummeling the target into the opposing wall or any objects in the way.
- Force Grip: The Force-user grasps hold of the object or target with the force, being able to lift and move the object through the air and move it in whatever way the user wills. The object in control can be pushed outward, pulled inward, thrown, compressed, or even be subject to other Force abilities as a combination attack, such as Force Cannon, gripping a target into the air and using Force Push to fire the object out into the distance, or to use Force Choke on a target in mid-air. To move a target in front of you could be considered taking cover as well.
- Force Choke: The Force-user manipulates kinetic energy around the target’s throat, crushing their windpipe and slowly suffocating their enemy. This can often be used as a type of torture or finishing move against a target. This can be used lethally or just to cause unconsciousness.
- Force Shield: A physical barrier surrounding the Force-user that intercepts all permeable matter, energy attacks, and kinetic force, negating the affects and shielding the user from an attack.
- Force Absorb: Enabled the user to absorb energy, in just about any form, and re-channel it to another location/destination, use it to power one's own abilities, or regain one's strength. It was said to be a rare ability among the Jedi.
- Force Speed: Increased speed of the Force-user enabled them to see the world and the entities around them in slow motion, allowing them to dodge attacks easily and attack quicker with greater accuracy. The power also apparently enabled the user to run for extended distances with no visible signs of fatigue.
- Force Leap: Uses the Force to augment the user's natural leaping ability. Force-users adept in this technique could perform awe-inspiring vertical/horizontal leaps across great distances or over high obstacles, or normally unreachable areas. Force Leap can be enhanced when combined with Force Speed.
- Force Camouflage: The Force-user takes hold of the visual light surrounding him or her, manipulating the sight of their fixed or moving position, hiding themselves from others from a direct line of sight. This does not negate motion sensors, life sensing abilities, or heat sensors. Force-users that have mastered this ability are able to manipulate the noise around them as well.
- Force Berserker: A Force technique which allowed any Force-sensitive to push their body's endurance past a safe limit, ignoring and possibly sacrificing their health and well-being, in order to sustain their connection to the Force.
- Force Stasis: The Force-user stuns a singular target or multiple targets, freezing them in place and rendering them incapable of movement or action. Also referred to Force Stun, this stops the actions of physical movement and other actions, but not affecting the mind or artificial intelligence of the target or targets.
- Force Breath: The Force-user controls the air within his lungs, taking hold of the oxygen and distributing it to the lungs over brief amounts of time, drastically increasing the time in which the Jedi can hold his breath. This can be used for long periods of time under water, rooms with an unbreathable atmosphere, or even areas of space or vacuum without any oxygen. Jedi that have mastered this have been known to hold this in effect for up to an hour with intense and extreme training.
- Force Translocation: The Force-user concentrates on the matter of his or her own body, or an object, deconstructing the molecules and atoms, streaming them to an alternate location and reconstructing them together to form the original being or object. This ability requires a massive amount of concentration to perform.
Elemental Abilities- Frost Gauntlet: The Force-user targets the moisture within the air, pulling it together to form a single mass of water. The user surrounds his fist with the mass of water and lowers the temperature to the point where it freezes over into a Frost Gauntlet, shielding the fist from initial contact and increasing the blunt damage of the blow. The ice around the user’s fist shatters and is pulled toward the user when his fist is drawn back, tearing apart the target’s armor and exposed vulnerable points. The user then forces the remaining shards of ice forward and splinters inside of the target’s body, shredding the skin and organs. The shards of ice melt almost immediately so as not to provide ammunition for retaliation.
- Force Lightning: A purely offensive, energy-based attack that channeled Force energy down the user's limbs, hurling arcing bolts of electricity from the wielder's fingertips or palms; Force lightning could be executed with either one or two hands. Powerful discharges would branch out into dozens of smaller forks; thus, skilled practitioners could target several foes at once.
- Force Whirlwind: The Force-user can take hold of the air surrounding him or within proximity range and hurl it in any direction, also spinning it within a diameter as a kind of shield, visual blockage with natural or synthetic debris, or even as a weapon should objects come into contacts with targets. This can also be done around a targeted subject instead of themselves.
- Force Freeze: The Force-user targets a body of water of any size and manipulates the temperature of the liquid to freeze it in place of the shape and form of the user’s choosing. This can also be used to trap a target within ice should an enemy be wet or in water.
- Force Heat: The Force-user targets an object, the temperature of a liquid, or the temperature of the air and manipulates the level of heat the target experiences. This can be used to steam liquid for a scorching affect, use the steam as visual cover, burn an object or heated enough to burn at the touch. It can also evaporate the moisture out of a targeting area of air or to create a hot wave of air to throw, burn, or defend with.
- Geo-Manipulation: The Force-user grasps hold of the ground or earth-like substance to bend it to the user’s will, such as jutting a rock out from the ground or to crack the ground to offset an enemy’s balance or as an attack. The ground can be shifted with this ability or even taken and moved across great distance.
Mental Abilities- Force Piloting: Using the Force to manipulate and adjust the acceleration, deceleration, and maneuverability while inside a star fighter or speeder bike, the Force user is able to better control the vehicle. The precision needed for maneuvering through confined quarters, such as a building, is easier to achieve when using this ability.
- Force Persuade: Influence the thoughts of sentient creatures, most commonly used to coerce into agreement by suggestion through voice manipulation or to cause one to reveal information.
- Force Illusion: The Force-user can manipulate the thoughts of a single target; more skilled Force-users can target multiple targets. These thoughts can be manipulated to show images, invoke sounds, or even alter the perception of the target’s mind. This can also be used to hide images, deafen sounds from their minds, or produce thoughts into the target’s mind.
- Force Mentality: The ability to absorb and interpret great quantities of information rapidly by speeding up the user's neural processes and learning things at an enhanced rate.
- Force Sleep: The Force-user manipulates the mind of the target to cause drowsiness or to put the target to sleep for a brief period of time. Some with a stronger connection to the Force can put their target into a full sleep cycle or even a coma. Force Sleep generally only works on targets that do not perceive the ability being used on them at that moment. Force Sleep is more affective if the target is drowsy, weary, or sleepy to begin with.
- Force Reaction: Increases the reaction time of the Force-user, decreasing the amount of time it takes for the user to comprehend and process the actions occurring around them. Force Reaction allows the Force-user to see what is happening in a slower context around them which allows them to react quicker and more efficiently to normal actions.
